Lifetime Manufacturing Warranty

Our warranty applies to structural and craftsmanship defects that may arise from the manufacturing process. These include:

• Porosity: Surface pores or blemishes in the metal.
• Uneven Settings: Misalignment of gemstones or settings at the time of pick-up or during servicing.
• Initial Condition Issues: Chips, scratches, or nicks in gemstones or metals identified at pick-up.
• Rhodium Plating Defects: Stains or splashes caused during the plating process, noted at pick-up.

If a defect is confirmed as a manufacturing issue, we will repair or replace the jewellery at no charge.

The following are not considered manufacturing defects and are not covered under this warranty:

• Normal Wear and Tear: Dents, abrasions, scratches, or thinning of metal over time.
• Gemstone Damage: Chips, cracks, or scratches caused by impact, accidents, or mishandling.
• Chemical Exposure: Damage or discolouration due to exposure to chlorine, cleaning agents, or cosmetics.
• Stone Loss: Loss of gemstones resulting from wear, improper care, or impact.
• Third-Party Alterations: Modifications or repairs by other jewellers.
• Natural inclusions within gemstones are not considered defects, as they are inherent to the stone’s unique character.
• Stones or jewellery purchased elsewhere and incorporated into our designs are not covered.

Your fine jewellery is designed to be cherished for a lifetime. To preserve its beauty and ensure longevity, we recommend the following care guidelines:

General Care

• Remove your jewellery before engaging in any heavy-impact activities, such as gardening, exercising, heavy lifting, or household cleaning.
• As a rule of thumb: Take your jewellery off as soon as you get home and put it on last when leaving the house. This simple habit can save your jewellery from unnecessary knocks, bumps, and wear.
• Avoid exposure to harsh chemicals such as chlorine, bleach, or cleaning agents. This includes swimming in pools or hot tubs. Chlorine reacts with metals, causing corrosion, pitting, and weakening of alloys, which can damage the structural integrity of jewellery over time.

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Clean your jewellery regularly using warm water, dishwashing detergent, and a soft-bristled brush.
• Avoid abrasive cleaning materials.
• Visit us to have your jewellery professionally cleaned and inspected annually to ensure its settings and structure remain secure.

Storage
Store each piece of jewellery separately in a soft-lined box or pouch to prevent scratches, tangling, or damage.

Insurance
We strongly recommend insuring your jewellery and gemstones through a third party. While our warranty covers manufacturing defects, it does not cover theft, accidental loss, or damage due to unforeseen circumstances.

To make a warranty claim:

• Contact Us: Reach out to us at info@carmenandlucyfinejewellery.com with details of your concern.
• Arrange a Return:
  • In-Person: Drop off your jewellery at an agreed location — this will be our Gawler Place Studio once ready for clients.
  • By Mail: Post the jewellery securely, including all relevant documentation, such as your proof of purchase and stone certificates.

Assessment Process
Upon receiving your jewellery, we will conduct a thorough, free inspection to determine if the issue qualifies as a manufacturing defect.
If the issue is not covered, we will provide a detailed repair quote for your approval. Repairs will only proceed once the quote is approved.
If the issue is covered, we will repair or replace the jewellery free of charge and refund your postage fees.

Important: Repairs or services performed by any jeweller other than Carmen & Lucy Fine Jewellery will void the warranty.
