Creating a custom engagement ring is a collaborative process. You do not need to arrive with every detail decided. You might have one saved image, a stone shape you love, or a very clear idea of what you want. We’ll help you work through the rest.
From choosing your diamond or gemstone to refining the setting, proportions and finishing details, each ring is designed one-on-one from our Adelaide studio and made specifically for you.

Diamond & Gemstone Sourcing
Natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, sapphires and coloured gemstones are sourced individually, with a focus on beauty, proportion and quality.

Once your design is finalised in CAD, we can create a resin model so you can experience the ring at full scale before it is made in gold or platinum.
Start with what you know
You do not need to have your engagement ring completely designed before your appointment.
Bring along anything that helps communicate what you are drawn to: saved images, a Pinterest board, a particular stone shape, a ring you already wear, or even examples of things you know you don’t like.
From there, we can help narrow down the details and explain what will work well together, both aesthetically and practically.
If you are planning a surprise proposal, that is completely fine too. We can work from the details you do know, such as your partner’s jewellery, preferred metal colours or styles they have saved, and build the design from there.
Choosing your diamond or gemstone
The centre stone has a huge influence on the finished ring, and choosing it is one of the most important parts of the process.
Rather than presenting an overwhelming number of options, we prefer to narrow the search and source a small selection that suits your priorities. We can then compare them together, looking beyond the specifications to things such as proportions, colour, brilliance and how each stone actually presents in person.
Julia personally reviews and sources stones with a focus on beauty, proportion and quality. We work with natural and lab-grown diamonds, sapphires and a range of coloured gemstones.
You are also welcome to browse our Gem Vault, although many stones are sourced specifically for individual clients and never make it online.
If you already own a gemstone, including an heirloom stone, we can assess it and discuss whether it is suitable for your new design.
What can be customised?
Almost every part of your ring can be designed around you.
That may include the centre stone, setting style, metal, band width, profile, ring height, claws, finish and the way your engagement ring sits alongside a future wedding band.
These details can seem small individually, but together they completely change how a ring looks and feels on the hand.
Part of our role is helping you understand which details are purely aesthetic and which ones affect durability, comfort and long-term wear, so the final design works as beautifully as it looks.
Seeing your design from every angle
Once we have chosen your stone and refined the design direction, your ring is developed as a detailed CAD model.
This allows us to view the piece from multiple angles and refine the proportions before anything is made.
At this stage, we look closely at details such as the height of the setting, band width, profile, claw proportions, stone placement and how the ring will sit on the hand. If you plan to wear a straight wedding band alongside it, we can also account for this during the design process.
You will have the opportunity to review the CAD and make refinements before we move forward.

Once your design has been finalised in CAD, we can create a resin model for you to try on in the studio before your ring is made in gold or platinum.

Once the design is approved, your ring moves into production.
Your piece is made in Adelaide using a combination of precise modern manufacturing and traditional jewellery techniques, before being hand-finished, stone-set, polished and carefully checked.
We work with trusted local jewellers and setters and use responsibly sourced precious metals, diamonds and gemstones.
There are several stages between an approved design and the finished ring, and each one matters. The CAD is the starting point, but hand-finishing ensures the piece has the softness, balance and refinement you expect from fine jewellery.

An engagement ring is usually worn far more often than almost any other piece of fine jewellery, so we consider more than appearance when designing it.
Setting height, stone protection, band thickness, claw style and the way the ring sits against a wedding band can all affect how comfortable and practical it is over time.
There is rarely one single “correct” way to design a ring. The right solution depends on your stone, your preferences and how you intend to wear it.
Once your ring is finished, we also offer ongoing care, including complimentary annual cleaning and inspections to help keep the setting secure and the piece looking its best.

Our custom engagement rings start from $3,500. The final price depends primarily on your choice of diamond or gemstone, precious metal and the complexity of the design.

Do you offer natural and lab-grown diamonds?
Yes. We work with both natural and lab-grown diamonds and can help you compare options based on size, quality, certification, appearance and budget.
Can I try on my ring before it is made?
Yes. Once your design has been finalised in CAD, we can create a 3D-printed resin model so you can see the proportions and experience the design at full scale before it is made in gold or platinum.
Can you create sapphire engagement rings?
Yes. We regularly source sapphires in a wide range of colours and shapes, as well as other coloured gemstones suitable for engagement rings.
Can you source a stone for me?
Yes. Gemstone sourcing is part of our custom process. We can source diamonds, sapphires and coloured gemstones based on your preferred shape, colour, size and budget, then present a selection for you to compare.
Can I use a gemstone I already own?
In many cases, yes. We can assess an existing or heirloom gemstone and advise whether it is suitable for your new design before proceeding.
Can I trade in old gold towards my custom ring?
Yes. If you have existing gold jewellery you no longer wear, we can assess and weigh the gold and apply its value as a credit towards your new custom piece.
We do not typically melt and reuse your existing gold directly in the new ring. Instead, the trade-in value is credited towards your order.
Do you work with interstate clients?
Yes. Custom engagement rings can be designed remotely for clients throughout Australia. Consultations, stone selection and design approval can all be completed remotely.
Do your rings include a warranty?
Our pieces include a lifetime manufacturing warranty covering craftsmanship defects, subject to our warranty terms. We also recommend annual inspections so the setting can be checked and professionally cleaned.
